Aula 06- Inglês


Hello dear students? How are you?  
I hope you are all well. Quando mandarem seus ‘homeworks’ deem um ‘hi’, 
please! Bem chegou a hora de misturar nas frases o comparativo 
e o superlativo. Lembrem-se que uso o comparativo para comparar duas 
ou mais coisas, pessoas, etc. Uso o superlativo para dizer que algo ou 
alguém é superior ou inferior do resto.  Consulte sempre as regras, ok? 
Vamos refrescar a memória com alguns exemplos:
Comparative
Susan is more intelligent than Peter. (Susan é mais inteligente que Peter).
Today is hotter than yesterday. (Hoje está mais quente que ontem).
Superlative: Christine is the most beautiful girl in class. (Cristine é a menina mais bonita 
da aula).
Yesterday was the cloudiest day in June. (Ontem foi o dia mais nublado 
de Junho).
DICA: No comparativo uso SEMPRE than (que/do que) depois do adjetivo.
          No superlativo uso SEMPRE the (o;os;a;as) na frente do adjetivo. 

a) Choose the comparative or the superlative form of the sentences. (Escolha a forma comparativa ou o superlativa das frases. Circule ou Sublinhe qual das opções está correta). 
1. Chinese is [the most spoken /more spoken than ] language in the world .                  
Spoken = falada                          
2. My brother is [lazier than / the laziest  ] me!                                                                          
Lazy = preguiçosa (o)
3. It is usually [warmer /the warmest] in spring than in winter.                                           
Warm = quente  
4. Barack Obama has been one of [the most popular /more popular ] American presidents
in the world .                                                                                                                           
5. Football is [the most popular / more popular than ] golf in our country.                       
Popular = popular      
6. Learning French is [the most difficult /more difficult than] learning English.                
Difficult = difícil
7. –Are you [as absent-minded as/ the most absent minded ] your brother?”                 
Absent-minded= avoado (a)   
8. Eating fruit and vegetable is [healthier than/the healthiest ] eating junk food.            
Healthy = saudável             
9. The cheetah is [the fastest / faster than ] mammal  in the world.                                    
Fast = rápido  
10. Charlize Theron is one of [the most beautiful /more beautiful ] women in the world.   Beautiful = bonita                                                      
11. I would like to have [less /the least] homework to do.                                                    
Less = menos (irregular)
12. Schindler’s list is one of[ the best /better than  ] films I have ever seen.                    
Good = bom (irregular)
13. My neighbours are [nicer than / most nicest] the people living opposite.                  
Nice = legal              
14. My car, a Ford Fiesta is not[faster than / most fastest]many other modern cars now.                                    
15. Théo is [taller than /the tallest ] boy in the class.                                                             
Tall = alto
16. I am sure the Nile is [the longest/ longer than] river in the world. You can check!    
Long = longo                 
17. My teachers are  [more/ the most sincere people in the world.                                   
Sincere = sincero (a)                      
18. Diamonds are [the most expensive/more expensive than] precious stones in the world.   
Expensive= caro                                                                                                                   
19. For sure, cats are [more intelligent than / most intelligent ] dogs!                            
intelligent = inteligente
20. Australia is nearly [as big as / the biggest ] the United States  , and it is [the hottest/ hotter than ] Canada.                                                                                              
21. I think U2 and Cold Play are two of [the best /better than ] bands in the world!.       
22. London is [bigger than /the biggest]  Paris .                                                                       
Big = grande
23. London is [bigger than/ the biggest] city in England.                                                             
24. Sandy is [more talkative than/ the most talkative] her sister!                                      
Talkative = falante        
25. Mark is [the most talkative/ more talkative ] boy I know.                                                                                          
26. Let’s hope the economic situation will get [better/the best than other years.                              
27. Global warming is [the most important/more important than] issue of our time.                     
28. It is [more important /the most important ]to save endangered species than to 
develop tourist zones!                                                                                                      
29. Oh dear, you are the tallest/ taller than] me!                                                             
Tall = alto (a)                                        
30. I can’t stand your being [richer than /the richest  ] me!                                                   
Rich = rico (a0
31. She is  [younger/the youngest] in my family.                                                                       
Young = jovem
32. My parents are [the nicest / nicer than ] people I know.                                                 
Nice = legal
33. Nelson Mandela was one of [the most peaceful /more peaceful than] people of this century.              
Peaceful=pacífico
